Thursday 18th February 2010

I've finally decided that I might just smile for the camera occasionally, so here are a few pics, just to prove it! I've been under the weather the past week, with a nasty cough and a cold, so when mummy and I went out to meet Aunty Becky in Oxford yesterday for the day, I had to wear my wooly hat. Don't I look cool? Needless to say it didn't stay on my head very long, as I had great fun pulling it off every 5 minutes to keep mummy on her toes! Tee hee, I did find it very funny.
I have now learned to sit up all by myself, this is a good development, as it means that I can sit in my new high chair quite well. I love my new high chair. It's the same as Harriet's and arrived last week. Daddy put it together, and I've been eating all my meals sitting in it since the weekend. Don't I look grown up? It doesn't help me get any less messy with my food though, as you can see, I still manage to get most of it over my face when I eat. Yum, yum - I'm doing well with my food, I'm now trying to suck on rusks and rice cakes, but I can't wait until I've got a few teeth when I can crunch and munch my way through more different things. I'm off to see my cousins Daniel, Joseph and Georgie tomorrow. We're going to Birdland together, so I can't wait to see all the different birds.

Thursday 11th February 2010

I've had a bonus extra day at home with my sister today, as she's a little bit poorly with a tummy bug. This meant no Buggyfit for mummy and me, however, so we'll have to make sure we get out and about next week a bit more to make up for being couch potatoes today. We had great fun watching Mary Poppins together, and dancing round the coffee table to all the songs. I do a lot of dancing at my Monday music group, so I showed Harriet some moves.I have been trying to practice my rolling this week, but I still haven't managed to roll onto my front. This is probably becuase I am putting on weight at a rate of knots! I am now 15lb 15oz as of Monday, so I am now between the 25th and 50th centile on the chart - that's the highest I've ever been - it must be all the yummy food I'm eating. I've had chicken, fish, lentils and beef so far, and I know mummy has cooked me some yummy organic lamb too - I like to try anything that's going, and I even grabbed daddy's egg sandwich and sucked on it at the book launch we went to on Sunday. Harriet's godmother's sister has written a fab book called Ruby's Spoon. I've got a signed copy all to myself to read when I'm a lot older, which is very exciting. At my swimming lesson this week I swam under water all by myself without mummy holding me. Mummy had to put me under the water and then let go before she caught hold of me again. I was very brave and didn't cry one bit. It was granny Wendy's birthday on Monday, so we're all going up to see her on Saturday as long as I don't catch Harriet's bug - fingers' crossed! I'd also like to introduce my pink mouse - he's my favourite thing, and was bought for me by Sam, who is Harriet's friend's Gene's mum. I love to fight with him and eat his nose to help me go to sleep, and I like to sleep best with him draped over my face!

Wednesday 3rd February 2010

Today I did something rather cool. I rolled for the first time, and mummy caught it on camera. I rolled from my front to my back, so I've now got to try and do it the other way round too. I think I managed it today, because I practised hard with Harriet yesterday, and she showed me her great rolling technique, so how could I not succeed? I also ate beef for the first time today. The texture was a bit funny, but I tried hard and ate most of it. It was some yummy bolognese made by my 'godmother to be' Jayne, with some carrot and courgette thrown in for good measure by mummy. I also had my 3rd swimming lesson today. I went under the water, and was very good all the way through. I didn't cry at all, although lots of the other babies did. I actually laughed quite a lot, and kicked my legs, so I feel very proud of myself. Godmother Jayne goes back to work tomorrow, so 'Good Luck Jayne' we'll be thinking of you. I'm sure all the little animals will be very pleased to have you back at the Vet Surgery looking after them!
