Sunday 14th March 2010

Hello, I'm back again to update on my exciting antics. I've been catching up with pals this week. I saw some of my special Care and hospital mates on Wednesday, and we're all doing really well. I reckon we're all about the same size now, and all starting to sit up and roll around. I'm getting really good at sitting, so much so that I can even sit up in the bath now - not for very long before I get knocked over by Harriet splashing about though, so I have to watch out. Harriet and I went to our swimming lessons together on Saturday for the first time. I have been going on a Wednesday up until now, but now Harriet and I are both going on a Saturday morning in preparation for when mummy goes back to work in June. I was a real pro in my lesson, as I'd had lessons before, so I was used as the demonstration baby nearly every time! I swam under water nicely and kicked my legs for mummy. Harriet did really well in her lesson too and swam through a hoop under the water. It's Mothering Sunday today, so Harriet and I cooked mummy breakfast and took it to her in bed - not really!!!! I woke up at 5.45am, so mummy wasn't very impressed with me. Harriet and daddy made mummy a lovely cup and saucer though, and we all went to a special Mothering Sunday church service and we lit candles for our mummy and gave her some flowers. I've been waking up early recently, so mummy has had to start feeding me more milk at about 10pm again to try and get me to sleep longer - oops, I don't think she's very happy with me for that - I think it's just because I'm growing a lot in preparation for starting nursery. I do my first practice without mummy tomorrow for an hour and then on Thursday I spend a whole morning there ready for my first full day on 1st April - how exciting. I'm also teething a lot although I don't have any teeth yet. Harriet got her first tooth when she was 10 months old apparently. I like to chew on everything, including mummy when I'm feeding, so I'm not very popular for that either. Oh dear, I'd better do something to make it up to her - lots of smiles and cuddles should do the trick!

Wednesday 3rd March 2010

I go to a music and movement class every Monday morning and have fun playing instruments, and tapping to the beat! It's supposed to aid brain development, to make sure I'm dead brainy! Anyway it's called Kindermusik (it's not German though), and I love it. Here are some photos of me playing the triangle and shaking my egg shaker, and playing with floaty scarves - what fun! Check it out at http://www.kindermusik.com/

Tuesday 2nd March 2010

I have been having a fun time seeing family this weekend. Here is a pic of me with Harriet and my cousin Issy. We are the 3 muskateers. I am the leader - even though Harriet doesn't know it yet - I let her think that she rules the roost, but really I'm the one calling the shots. That's why I let her draw all over my face with a biro on Thursday, just before Granny Judy arrived - it was to make sure I got maximum attention! Mummy only left us alone in the kitchen for a couple of minutes, but Harriet managed to decorate my face nicely in that time. I look like I've grown a beard! Harriet went to stay with Granny Judy for the weekend, so I got mummy and daddy all to myself for a few days. Mummy went off to lunch with her friend Helen on Saturday, so daddy and I spent the day together. Daddy took me to my swimming lessonk, which I wasn't keen on. I got cold and had to leave my lesson half way through. But the rest of the day was lovely and we enjoyed 'bonding'. We went up to Birmingham to see Auntie Shellie and Uncle Chris on Sunday and cousin Issy. It was great fun to play at their house, and Granny Judy brought Harriet over after lunch, so we had a girls afternoon, while our daddies watched the football. It was Aston Villa against Manchester United. Daddy supports Villa and uncle Chris supports United, so daddy wasn't very pleased with the result. Oh well, hopefully they'll do better in the FA cup against our local team Reading at the weekend. I saw Granny Wendy and Grandpa today and after some initial tears and lip wobbles, I had a lovely time with them and some lovely cuddles too. I just get a little bit nervous of people sometimes, so it's nothing personal. As long as mummy and daddy are close by then I'm okay. Auntie Shellie measured my vital statistics on Sunday, as she is a health visitor. My weight is now 16lb 5oz, my length is 67cm and my head circumference is 43.5cm. This means I am all in proportion, and between 25th and 50th centile for everything. Hooray!
